[ New Kids on the Block ] New Kids on the Block fans say ‘thank you’ in a big way

New Kids on the Block fans — also known as “Blockheads” — found a way to give back to the five Boston brothers that make them smile. Collectively, joining together on Twitter, fans of the still popular 80’s boy band raised over $8,000 to put a full page ad in Billboard Magazine — out in stores March 30.

Donations were collected from nearly 30 countries for the ad, which congratulated NKOTB on their latest album, “10” which hits stores on April 2. Donnie Wahlberg, Joey McIntyre, Danny Wood, Jonathan Knight, and Jordan Knight were presented with framed copies of their ad during their record release party at the Orpheum Theater in Boston on Saturday.

“Fans in the theater held up heart shaped posters with #ThankYou written on them while those on Twitter who were unable to attend the show supported the moment by changing their profile pictures,” explained Blockhead, Mabelle.

New Kids on the Block fans’ efforts didn’t go unnoticed by the guys, either.

[ New Kids on the Block ] Fans present NKOTB with full page Billboard ad

The New Kids on the Block gave their audience a special treat at the Orpheum Theater this weekend, but the fans gave back with a special surprise to show their appreciation to the “five hardest working guys in show business.”

The guys were at Boston’s Orpheum Theater on Saturday for the record release party of their latest album,”10,” which drops on April 2. Fans enjoyed an intimate setting featuring the guys crooning tracks off the upcoming record and a Q&A session. However, in a twist of events, several die-hard New Kids fans were invited on stage to present their boys with five plaques; plaques with a message that can be seen in April’s issue of Billboard magazine:

Donnie, Danny, Jordan, Jonathan, and Joey

25 Years Ago, We Showed the World That Despite the Odds, We Will Always Hang Tough

Five Years Ago, You Came Back to Show That While the Music Industry May Evolve, The Love Between Their Group and Fans Remains

Congratulations New Kids on the Block on the Release of “10”

Love,
Your Blockheads and a Million Sisters Worldwide

As the band accepted their plaques, a few tears were shed as Jonathan Knight took to the microphone to personally thank his fans.

[ New Kids on the Block ] Germany – Review: 10 (inkl. Tracklist und Cover)

Da sind sie ja wieder – Die “New Kids on the Block” sind zurück.

New Kids on the Block – 10

[ New Kids on the Block ] New Kids still rule the block

New Kids on the Block thought they couldn’t get any bigger.

In 1989, the Boston boy band sold out arenas and cornered the market on Trapper Keepers. A quarter century later, the New Kids have lost their notebook dominance, but the coming arena tour will top ’89’s. It will also top their 2008 and 2011 tours.

When NKOTB reunited in 2008, they headlined the TD Garden. In 2011, they packed the Garden and Fenway Park
a few days apart. This summer, the guys host their fifth annual cruise, play three shows at Mohegan Sun Arena and return to Boston for back-to-back Garden gigs.

“I’m shocked it’s still at this level,” Danny Wood said from his adopted home of Miami. “When you’re away for 15 years and you’re a pop group, you don’t know what to expect. Pop changes so fast, and it’s a young man’s game. I didn’t expect the first reunion to be so big. So to be playing three Mohegan Sun shows when we usually play one, that’s amazing.”

[ New Kids on the Block ] UK – New Kids On The Block Claim New Album Has ‘More Mature Vibe’

American boyband New Kids on the Block (aka NKOTB) have spoken out about their forthcoming new album ‘10’ – saying it’s a much more ‘mature’ effort than their some of their older material.

Produced by longtime production partners DK, the album is the seventh of their career, and follows their last record ‘The Block’, which hit #2 in the US back in 2008. Set for a release on April 2nd, the group have opened up about what fans can expect.

“A lot of pop music nowadays is centred to a younger audience or written for younger artists, but for a group who are all in our 40s, you want to be singing about stuff that resonates with you,” Joey McIntyre told Digital Spy. “I think this music does. Our last album The Block was a little more urban and club-driven, whereas this has a more mature vibe to it.”

[ New Kids on the Block ] Germany – New Kids On The Block & das erwachsene Album

Los Angeles – Die Boygroup-Zeiten sind für New Kids On The Block endgültig vorbei.

Das neue New Kids On The Block-Album “10” kommt hierzulande übrigens am 5. April in den Handel.

[ New Kids on the Block ] New Kids On The Block “10” Album Review — 5 out of 5 stars

“I like the new you,” Donnie Wahlberg croons on “Remix I Like The”, the first single from New Kids on the Block’s, 10.

He could very well be talking about his group’s latest record. 10 feels unequivocally and undeniably “new”. It’s not the work of a pop juggernaut reaching for past glories; it’s the epic vision of five musicians whose feet are firmly planted in the future and are still leading the pack. That’s the most magical and marvelous thing about 10. It’s New Kids On The Block’s best album to date and a 21st century pop milestone.

“We Own Tonight” builds elegantly from orchestral production into a swooping refrain. It’s an a propos opener to the epic to follow. Then, there’s “Remix I Like The”, which stands proudly alongside the Boston quintet’s hottest hits. Joey McIntyre exudes effusive swagger as he delivers each note with the bombast and brilliance of a legend. He and Wahlberg volley back and forth seamlessly as the beat pulsates beneath them.
