(NECN) – The first acronym for “boy bands” will forever be remembered as NKOTB. New Kids on the Block was the hot pop sensation from the late 1980’s to early 1990’s, and every teen in that era knew the songs and moves from the Boston-based group.

Nikki Van Noy, Rock Journalist and Author of “New Kids on the Block: Five Brothers and a Million Sisters”, joined “The Morning Show” to discuss her new biography about the boy band.

Nikki Van Noy is also the author of “So Much to Say”, a biography of the Dave Matthews Band.

She works as a writer and editor in Boston.

Van Noy was among the throngs of adolescent girls pining for the band in the late ’80s. She spent a year and half interviewing each of the guys one-on-one, as well as their parents.

The book hit store shelves on Oct. 2.
